MLK Sidewalk & Lighting ProjectSidewalk and Lighting
With the 2007-2008 CDBG funding for infrastructure improvements, the City of Temple installed sidewalks and lighting along MLK Drive from Avenue A, south to Avenue D.  Work included installation of 695 linear feet of five ft. wide sidewalk, 160 linear feet of variable height concrete retaining wall, 6 diagonal ADA ramps and 12 lumimaire base, pole and lamps. This was Phase II of a 3 phase project to improve the accessibility of a suitable living environment for low-income residents.






Jackson Park Renovation Project

With the 2007-2008 CDBG funding for infrastructure improvements, the City of Temple was able to make rJackson Parkenovations and improvements to Jackson Park.  Work included installation of approximately 2,364 linear feet of pervious concrete trail that is 5 feet wide, one ADA compliant ramp for access to the trail, restroom, playground area, and basketball courts, one new playground, including fall safe surface and retaining wall, one new picnic pavilion and concrete slab approximately 20' X 20' in size, 4 new park benches and bench pads and landscaping (sandstone boulders and clump grasses) in 8 different areas along the trail.
