Overview

Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport (TPL)To provide a safe, efficient aviation facility capable of meeting the business transportation needs of the region and supporting economic growth in Temple. To provide high quality services for the corporate, medical and general aviation pilots Anticipated Revenue from the Airport operations: $2,208,394.

 

Accomplishments

  • Passed ALL State & Federal Regulatory Inspections
  • Leased 2nd hangar complex to US Government to support AMCOM's growing operation
  • Awarded  DOD Military Fuel Contract through 2011
  • The airport won the gold for outstanding customer service and quality control; ranked #2 just under Alliance Airport

The Airport consists of excellent runway and taxiway facilitiesGoals

  • Work with TxDOT, FAA, Reinvestment Zone and Airport Board in evaluating the RZ western zone aviation plan as it relates to the airport's future growth demands and address compatible development on the eastside of the airport.
  • Maintain compliance with all State and Federal regulations and standards with no deficiencies
  • Facilitate and grow military operations on the airport through fuel contract and training missions
  • Work with City Attorney and City Planner to protect the airport environs and prevent obstructions through planned annexation and/or zoning restrictions

Runway extension project cost increase from approximately $2 to $4 million due to delay in grant funding.
