Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Clinic, is one of the nation's largest medical centers, emphasizing high-tech, comprehensive, personalized health care enhanced by education and research. It is also aligned with Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine as a teaching hospital.

Scott and White employs over 6,000 full-time workers, including over 500 medical doctors and non-medical scientists, at 19 area and regional offices and clinics. Three major components are: a 483-bed hospital; a clinic with 500+ physicians; and the 130,000-member Scott & White Health Plan.

Central Texas Veterans' Health Care System

The Olin E. Teague Veterans' Center is a major component of the largest Veterans Administration medical complex in Texas and the fourth largest in the United States. The Temple facility employs over 2,800 and covers a primary service area of 40 counties including 200,000 veterans. It has a newly-built 300+ bed acute care hospital, a 408-bed domiciliary, and a 60-bed nursing home.

The Teague Center has an annual operating budget of over $97 million and is located on a 185-acre campus across from Temple College. There is a medical staff of more than 150 physicians. Through its partnerships with Texas A&M University's Health Science Center, Scott & White, and Darnall Army Community Hospital at Ft. Hood, the Temple VA Medical Center also serves as a major medical teaching and research center.
